Would never go back until I read multiple reviews that they have a new manager or something who is running the service. I would give his service level a 0 and pink slip if I was the owner. Eventually he plopped the check on our table and someone else came by to process payment. So much so the waiter we had hailed down apologized for him. I wondered if he had a part time job he went to. No apology but said he would get the us the check. We stopped another waiter and he said he would get our waiter who did show up about 10 minutes later. No further check in by the waiter.Īfter finishing our meal (not seen from our waiter for well over a three quarters of an hour) we wanted the check but our waiter was no where to be seen. Had to hail down another staff member to bring them. The second round of food and wine was delivered. Took forever for him to bring the wine list. Overly anxious bussers repeatedly came by offering to clear the not yet finished food. The cocktails were long gone with no sight of the waiter. We told him we would order some lighter dishes to start with cocktails and then order some more food and wine. But after the first round of food he disappeared. The falafels were slightly above average. The charred eggplant was as advertised as smooth delicious dish with lightly smoked eggplant. The roast potatoes (which are waiter told us were the best vegetables on the menu) were bland and average at best. The accompanying hummus was simply perfect as was the pitas that came with them. Chef needs a refresher on how to cook short ribs. We had both the short rib hummus and the tamarind short ribs. The service started out pretty good but went down to about. My friend said the best old fashioned was the best he ever had. Visited the much hyped up ABA on a Friday night. Large groups Restaurants in Wrigleyville.Italian Restaurants for Lunch in Rogers Park.
